Harvard University Policy:

HUID#s are assigned to all students who are admitted to the University and are expected to attend in the upcoming term. If students have prior affiliation with the University, either as employees or students, the HUID previously assigned is maintained.

1.1 Business Process for the Establishment of a Student HUID#

• Admissions notifies SRO of newly admitted students.

• SRO assigns HUID#s in University's person database.

• SRO sets up records in SRO's Student Information System (SIS).

• SRO sends HUID#s to Admissions.

• Admissions distributes HUID#s to Registrars and FAOs.
