Welcome to online help for Harvard's Electronic
Shop & Pay System

Electronic Shop and Pay (ESP) is Harvard's easy-to-use, web-based tool for processing online shopping orders and payments with select strategic vendors. You can also use ESP to look up payment details and account coding of previously submitted orders.

The system provides one place of entry to multiple vendor sites, including Staples, VWR Scientific, and GovConnect. Selecting one of the listed vendors launches a Harvard-specific catalog with prices reflecting any discounts that have been negotiated with the strategic vendor.

The system is being piloted to a small group of users across the University. Our goal is to have at least 500 pilot users by the end of December 2004 who will consistently use ESP and can provide us with useful feedback. During this time additional vendors will be added, thus expanding the range of goods and services that can be purchased through this system.

Some of the benefits for users of the new system are:

  • Log onto Oracle Financials to access ESP responsibilities; one fewer password to remember.

  • Leverage existing Web Voucher technology; account code validation and approval rules are honored, business rules are enforced.

  • Approved orders are sent to the vendor electronically.

  • Invoices are sent directly to Accounts Payable; no more settlement with PCard or Web Voucher.
If you would like information about this system or want to participate in the pilot program, please read the frequently asked questions or contact Wendy Menning (495-4156), ESP Project Manager and Product Manager, Purchase to Pay Applications.
